The Science of the Spoken Word: Rhythm, Tone, Speed, Visualization, Songs and Mantras

27 Nov

Throat Chakra

The Science of the Spoken Word predominantly uses the throat chakra.  This chakra is one of the focal points of the emotional body. Its counterpoint is the solar plexus. Through the Science of the Spoken Word, students learn to master the water element, energy in motion, by releasing a steady, controlled stream of energy for specific creative purposes.

Control comes in a number of ways:

Rhythm

The bodies of decrees are usually written like poems, with a particular inner meter or rhythm that varies per decree. Decreers closely follow this rhythm, which becomes an ascended master imprint in the stream of energy released via the throat chakra.

Tone and Speed

Decrees may be given like spoken prayers, i.e. with emphasis on each word. This is usually how they are learned by the beginner, and how a decree is started in a decree session. At this initial level, heart contact is made and the image evoked by the decree is tuned into.

From this spoken stage, the decree begins to speed up as more repetitions are given. Soon, the decree begins to sound like a chant. As the speed increases, the tone tends to climb up the musical scale. At top speed, words are hardly discernible, but the rhythmic pulse is clearly overlaid over the chant. Sometimes, delicate overtones are heard. When decreers closely follow the decree leaders, a well-given decree becomes a thing of remarkable beauty.

Visualization

Though primarily working through the emotional body (throat chakra) and the heart chakra (pouring out of devotion to the masters in decrees), decrees are not complete without visualization. Decrees have built-in images that are intended to keep the student’s concentration focused on the task at hand. For instance, in the Michael decree above, the key images are a sword of blue flame, a blue banner, blue lightning, legions of blue-ray angels, and a blue armor.

Songs

Within the tool kit of the Science of the Spoken Word, songs represent the devotional aspect. Songs open the way for deep soul connections with the ascended hosts and with one’s higher self. They nurture the development of the heart.

Songs in The Summit Lighthouse range from gentle and meditative to strong, powerful and motivational. They make use of the music and rhythms from east and west.

Mantras

Like songs, mantras represent the devotional aspect of the Science of the Spoken Word.  Mrs. Prophet explained:

So when we sing these mantras, we’re not just singing songs; they are the means of giving devotion to God.
What I would like to point out is that the teaching of Hinduism is that the mantra is God and God is the mantra. When you recite a mantra you are putting sound into cups of light that are words. And these words, when you understand them and receive them, establish the vibration of God in your temple. This body is either a hollowed-out cage in which you are a prisoner or it is that great temple of light that you sweep clean, that you dedicate to God, where God may enter daily.[1]

The Science of the Spoken Word: Advanced Prayer

26 Nov

Advanced Prayer

The Science of the Spoken Word is the flagship spiritual practice taught by the masters via The Summit Lighthouse. It is an ancient science, practiced in the temples of Lemuria and Atlantis as well as in religious and mystery school traditions.

The Science of the Spoken Word could be considered the “big sister” of prayer. Prayer is a form of supplication to the Godhead. Practitioners of the Science of the Spoken Word primarily use an advanced form of prayer called “decrees.” A definition of “decree”:

Decree (n.): a foreordaining will, an edict or fiat, a foreordaining of events. To decree (vb.): to decide, to declare, to command or enjoin; to determine or order; to ordain.
The decree is the most powerful of all applications to the Godhead. It is the command of the sona or daughter of God made in the name of the I AM Presence and the Christ for the will of the Almighty to come into manifestation as above, so below. It is the means whereby the kingdom of God becomes a reality here and now through the power of the spoken Word. It may be short or long and usually is marked by a formal preamble and a closing, or acceptance.[1]

Decrees come in many types and forms. There are decrees for each of the seven rays, the secret rays and the ruby ray. Decree content ranges from making contact with one’s divine self to invoking God’s will in politics, ecology, education and the economy. A specific subset is that of judgment decrees, as explained in the previous unit.

Many decrees were dictated by the ascended hosts, directly to the messengers or in dictations. In those types of decrees, the master places certain thought patterns and keys to his causal body in the decree that invoke a response from him when it is given by a student.

Following the preamble of a decree, students pause to make personal spoken calls to the master or masters to whom the decree is addressed. These calls, like the decree itself, are given in the name of the student’s I AM Presence and Christ Self, with a request to adjust the directives given by the students to the will of God. This step assures that decreeing does not become karma-making by trying to impose one’s human will on specific situations.

When properly practiced, this science of decreeing truly makes the student an effective co-worker of the Great White Brotherhood.

Multiplication Factors

Decrees are usually given in sets of three. The repetition intensifies and amplifies the action. In decree sessions, decrees are often given 36, 40 or even 144 times to make maximum use of this strengthening of the sound wave that is being created.

Decrees may be given by oneself or in a group. In a group setting, the power of decrees is squared by the number of people present. A decree given by one person has the power of one. Given by nine people, it has the power of 81.

The ascended masters have released a number of dispensations that further multiply the effect of decrees. For instance, every decree uttered is automatically multiplied by the ascended hosts by the power of 10,000 times 10,000. This means that one decree spoken once by a devotee may benefit one hundred million people.

Specific masters have offered other dispensations. For instance, the Ascended Master Omri Tas has committed to multiplying every recitation of 15 minutes of solid violet flame decrees by the power of ten.

These multiplication factors explain why, though student numbers are relatively small compared to the world population, the ascended masters can bring about tremendous change through their students’ practice of this science.

The Secret to Transforming Our Lives

23 Aug

Ascended Masters

The ascended masters teach that there is no greater power than the spoken Word to effect permanent change.  Some contemporary students of the masters have used the spoken Word for more than thirty years to bring about profound change in their lives.  Spiritual people from ancient traditions around the world have been using it for centuries

Hindu, Buddhist and Jewish mystics believe that the Word is the source of all the exists.  Indeed, several religious texts say that is created the world.  If we believe the mystics, the Word is the most powerful generative force in the universe.  If the Word can fashion worlds, just imagine what it can do for us!

Understanding the power of sound and its effect upon material and spiritual creation is good motivation to try for yourself.  For example, you can use the name of God “I AM” to effect positive change in your world.  However, if the concept of the spoken Word is new to you or feels strange in the beginning, just remember the old adage “Nothing ventured, nothing gained.”

The Word–the Power of Creation

Why is the Word so powerful?  The Bible and the ancient Hindu Vedas say that the Word is God, or Brahman.  In the Vedas, we read, “In the beginning was Brahman with whom was the Word, and the Word is Brahman.”  Likewise, the apostle John wrote, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”  And Genesis says that when God spoke the words “Let there be light,”  the process of creation began.  The Word that was spoken was not just any word.  It was the Word of God–a frequency released as the sacred word AUM at the origin of creation.

In the Eastern Indian view of the cosmos the whole universe is an ocean of sound and light of varying degrees of density or luminosity.  In this belief system, sound precedes light.  This worldview may explain why God had to “speak” in order for the light to come into being.  The mystics of East and West understood how to harness the power of the Word.  They have connected with that force of creation by repeating spoken mantras and the names of God.  The ascended masters have expanded upon this ancient practice by teaching their students a powerful form of spoken prayer called the Science of the Spoken Word.  Today disciples use the Word in affirmations, prayers, mantras and decrees–a form of rhythmic spoken prayer–to draw the essence of divine light from the I AM Presence and cosmic beings into the planes of matter to bring transformation and constructive change.

You must recognize that you and God, as one, are the majority for the

entire planet.  You in God can change the earth!  And when we multiply our-

selves many times over through the Science of the Spoken Word…the union of

our souls with our I AM Presence–and our oneness with the Great White

Brotherhood through our I AM Presence–gives us a power untold…

-Elizabeth Clare Prophet

Using the Science of the Spoken Word gives us a way to easily contact the ascended masters, the angels and our own Higher Selves.  Once we have made that contact, we can draw on the power of Spirit to bring about the opportunities needed to fulfill our life plans, to help others and to change the world.  Understanding that sound has power to change matter helps explain why spoken prayer is much effective than silent prayer.

Sound Affects Matter

Ancient Eastern sages taught that matter is actually the interplay of waves of sound.  Hans Jenny, a Swiss doctor and scientist, demonstrated through practical experiments just how sound shapes matter.  In these experiments, he used an oscillator to vibrate materials on various membranes and then photographed the results.  Using a variety of frequencies, pitches and volumes, Jenny showed how sound can create intricate geometrical patterns and forms, many of which have an astonishing resemblance to patterns found in nature.

Sound is actively used today to transform matter.  Modern medical technology employs sound to clean wounds and pulverize kidney stones.  Alternative medical practitioners use tonal frequencies to help heal organs.  Sound is even being investigated as an energy source to replace traditional methods of power generation. It is time that we begin to tap the creative power of sound in our personal lives!

Tapping Unlimited Power through Affirmations

Affirmations are the perfect place to start re-creating ourselves and the world around us by using sound and the Science of the Spoken Word.  Affirmations have been used in schools of positive thought for many years to help people relax, to do better in a job or a sport, or to just become happier.  They usually begin with the words “I AM,” followed by a desirable quality or action.  Some examples are : “I AM successful in my job!”  “I AM a loving person!”  “I AM overcoming all obstacles and limitations!”   “I AM absorbing new material quickly and easily!”

The power in affirmations lies within the “I AM” phrase, which is derived from the name of God “I AM THAT I AM.”  The masters shorten this name to “I AM” when giving affirmations.  In a spiritual sense, the words “I AM” mean “God in me is.”  So when we say the words “I AM” or “I AM THAT I AM,” we tap into the unlimited light-energy of divinity and it is instantaneously transmitted to us.  Constructive “I AM” affirmations can be used to strengthen the qualities of God within ourselves.  As noted in the Bible, Jesus Christ used affirmations with powerful positive associations such as:

  • As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world
  • I am the resurrection and the life.  He that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live.
  • I am the way, the truth and the life.  No man cometh unto the Father but by me.

Jesus understood that it was God in him, the I AM Presence, that was fulfilling the Word that he spoke, not his human self.  In the same way, giving these or similar affirmations allow us to draw more of the eternal consciousness of the Divine in ourselves.  Repeating affirmations and using them consistently over a period of time accelerates the process as our subconscious begins to assimilate the concepts.  The positive thoughts then begin to work outward into our conscious awareness and we can see results.  By using affirmations, we can re-create our lives and bring ourselves into much closer attunement with God’s light and consciousness.  Here are some affirmations:

  • I AM light!
  • I AM light/energy/consciousness
  • I AM invincible and victorious!
  • I AM everywhere in the consciousness of God!
  • I AM the spirit of joy!
  • I AM love in action!
