Keep on Keeping On!

keep-on-keeping-on-300x157

The going can be tough on the spiritual path. The higher we aspire, the harder the climb. It’s easy to slip a little now and again, losing momentum; even falling off the rails for a time.

We also have an all-too-human tendency to kick ourselves when we’re down, to harshly judge, even condemn ourselves when we trip and fall. The dark voices of discouragement and despair like nothing more than to remind us how unworthy we are.

But that’s a lie!

It is enlightened self-interest to remind ourselves constantly that we are loved by God unconditionally! So let’s turn the tables on the temptation to believe we don’t measure up and remember two things.

One, we are totally worthy of the reward we seek.

And, two, every stumble, every trip and fall, every momentary departure from the path is an opportunity to learn, to grow and to remember that we can always rely on the ever-present Love and Light of God to sustain us at every point on the path.

So let your motto be to keep on keeping on!

Becoming the Buddha: Wesak A Celebration

24 Apr

The Summit Lighthouse® of Washington, D.C.

Wesak is the celebration of Buddha’s birth & enlightenment, & in some traditions also his death. As the most important figure in Buddhism his life is celebrated and revered. Gathering to chant and pray are an important part of a traditional Wesak celebration.

It is said that Wesak is that time at the Full Moon of May in which the Christ gathers the entire Spiritual Hierarchy together in meditation to invoke the forces of Shamballa. The Buddha, representing those forces, appears and blesses humanity.

The ceremony of Wesak is held in the actual Wesak Valley in the Himalayas at the time of the full moon of May (which is actually the full moon of Scorpio). A vast crowd assembles in the valley, in front of the great rock table at the end of the valley. Alice A. Bailey describes this event in The Unfinished Autobiography. It is said that the…

Lords of the Seven Rays: Saint Germain

7 Nov

“Beloved hearts, how do we begin?  How do we maintain that God-Control that allows for the rhythm of God to restore the balance before the human reaction–out of fear or anger or that teetering/tottering off balance? Beloved hearts, the components are there in the dictations, the decree book, Keepers of the Flame lessons.  But , as it always is, the more vast the compendium of knowledge, the greater the requirement of the teacher to organize.  Thus, understand: sometimes when you suddenly feel a disturbance–you are taken aback, you have a shock or a sudden reaction to the actions of injustice of another–one of the reasons you momentarily lose your balance is because the normal flow of the aura has been distributed, as though you would suddenly agitate the waters.”

“Now, your aura is your sanctuary, and it is the sanctity of your God flame.  Thus, before answering the demands of the carnal mind–the questioning, the praying for favors, or whatever–reestablish yourself.  Speak quietly, softly, and slowly.  For in this way you will not engage into yourself the anger, the impetuosity, the upsetness of anyone around you. You speak from the seat f the heart, the point of the Buddha.  You speak loud enough, in the sense of being strong and firm, so that the breath and the voice are not sinking like a shrinking violet of fear.  You speak strong enough and firm enough and peaceful enough and powerful enough so that God may use your voice to still your own aura and the agitation or the fear or the excitement of another.”

“Be the calm presence in a vortex of calamity and activity, beloved hearts, and learn the way of power, the immense power of peace itself.  Realize that in a situation of upsetness it is necessary to take some deep breaths.  For in the presence of anxiety, the heart begins to palpitate and people begin to breathe in a short-breath manner, thus adding to the absence of control.  You take a deep breath, you release it, you go to the heart, and you give no instantaneous answers, yes or no–no instantaneous reactions or solutions–but quietly turn within.”

You see, beloved ones, the test are flying full and sure.  We want you to experience the sense of mastery, of dominion, the enormous pleasure of that driving force of irritation, and conquered and risen above every foible of the senses directed against your heart.  They would steal your life.  They would take the flow of love between us.  They would break the bond by any form of anger or outrage.  And they will steal from you your sense of worthiness, your sense of the mantle of being a disciple of Sanat Kumara.  When they can destroy your dignity and you begin to feel like a moth, then you will also behave like one.  And till you regain your self-identity, I must pause and wait again, wondering just how long you will flit around the bulb of these sepent ones who have beguiled you into their auras momentarily.”

Thus, beloved hearts, the soft answer turneth away wrath.  If someone is speaking to you in a loud and high-pitched manner, adjust the tone and answer with the God-command.  Answer with helpfulness.  Try to solve the problem.  Try to show the best side of things.  Provide emergency care when needed.  Keep your wits about you.  And don’t enter the vortex of another;s anxiety, else you will become confused.  Remember that anything that seeks to taunt you from the seat of the Buddha in the secret chamber of the heart must be noted as the enemy–not the person necessarily, for it is often a loved one, but the force attempting to use that one.  Thus it is your challenge to liberate that one as well as yourself from the human nonsense of the moment.   May you pass every test!”

The whirling of the mind

must be stilled

The thoughts that arrange

the molecules of the

need the calmness

of a still pool–

That we may be able

to see clearly.

The manifestation of God in Nature are woven in and through the Spirit/Matter cosmos by the Holy Spirit, whose Sons–know as the Lords of the Seven Rays and the Great Lord (Maha Chohan know as the Holy Spirit) their hierarchy–tutor our souls for receptivity midst all-pervasive spiritual graces.  To these Servant-Sons in heaven, graduates of earth’s schoolroom, Jesus introduced us years ago.

The Master Jesus pointed to this teaching on Christ’s Universal Body which he gave to Paul to explain to us that in heaven the same Body which we all share with Lightbearers on earth consists of angels and masterful beings, great spirits akin to our own, ensouling and directing the cosmic forces, all of whom embody some special office and function of the universal activity of the Mind of God.

The Lord showed us his emissaries who teach the godly on earth the path of individual Christhood on the seven rays and the seven chakras (spiritual centers in the body of man)–each ray being a Light-emanation of the Universal Christ concentrating particular gifts and graces and principles of self-awareness in the Logos that can be developed by the disciple through his life’s calling.

He explained with perfect logic that the work of the Great White Brotherhood (ascended beings surround by God’s white light) and all heavenly hosts associated with it, including those whom they sponsor on earth, was and is to nurture the nascent divinity of every child of God while teaching him self-discipline and love for his sacred labor, which love kindles the soul to be in love with her Lord and to desire to glorify the full complement of his Light (Christ consciousness) in all her members.

He showed us that in this cycle of our cosmic history, earth’s evolution transiting from the Piscean to the Aquarian ( which we are now in) ages are scheduled to balance the threefold flame of the heart and to expand the attributes of the Trinity–Power, Wisdom–Love through each of the seven rays as these rays are consciously focused in the seven chakras.

Threefold flame001

This work of the soul–and it is indeed our work, even as we are His handiwork–is the preparation that is necessary prior to receiving the very special spiritual and physical assignment with one’s twin flame–a mission drawn from the higher spheres of their divine plan (casual bodies) which must be fulfilled ere they are allowed to graduate (i.e., ascend) from earth’s schoolroom.

Yes, we can learn, and we would do well to take the opportunity, from the Lords of the Seven Rays, our mentors of the Spirit who lead us on the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake–I AM THAT I AM–towards our soul’s receptivity to the gifts of the Holy Spirit.

In divine order, they are:

1. El Morya, Chief

2. Lord Lanto

3. Paul the Venetian

4. Serapis Bey

5.  Hilarion

6. Lady Master Nada

7. Saint Germain

For the seeker following in the footsteps of these representative of Christ Truth, each step of self-mastery secured on one ray is gain on the other six rays, for the shaft of white light in the center of each ray is the unifier of them all.  This shaft is the Law of the One in manifestation, even as the White fire core of the seven flames and seven spheres corresponding to the seven rays is also their sun center–the unifying Holy Spirit of these Light-emanations of Cosmos itself.

The Lord of the Ray is therefore one who embodies the consciousness of the Lord–the I AM THAT I AM–who is the Lawgiver of the ray, The Word and Work of the Chohan, i.e., his ‘Path’, are the expressions of the authority he holds in the interpretation of the Law of the ray

Karmic Condundrums

Karma and Reincarnation001

The word karma has made it into main-stream.  Just look at bumper stickers like My karma ran over your dogma or It’s a thankless job, but I’ve got a lot of karma to burn off.  But not everyone understands what karma really means, why it matters and how to deal with it.

Think about the talents you were born with and the good things that have happened to you in life.  Now think about so-called limitations and challenges that have come your way.  Both have to do with your karma.  Karma simply tells is that what happens to us in the present is the result of causes we ourselves have set in motion in the past–whether ten minutes ago or ten lifetimes ago.

We’ve all grown up learning about karma.  We just didn’t call it that.  Instead we heard:  What goes around comes around.  Whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.  For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. And in the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make.  In essence, karma tell us that whatever we do will come full circle to our doorstep–sometime, somewhere.

Karma and reincarnation go hand in hand.  While karma means accountability and payback, reincarnation is simply another word for opportunity.   Reincarnation gives us another chance to make good on the karmic debts we owe others and to reap the blessings we have sent forth.

Karma and reincarnation also help us make sense out of the question marks in life.  Why me?  Why not me?  Why was my niece born with Down’s syndrome when her brothers and sisters are healthy and robust?  Why have I been blessed with promotion after promotion while my brother can’t hold down a job–even though we had the same opportunities growing up?  Why do all of my relationships become a tug of war–how come I can’t live with him and I can’t live without him?  Why, when I just landed the job I’ve been after for a year, do I have to leave town to care for my ailing parents?  Why did I survive a car accident when all of my friends in the car were killed?

Life is full of paradoxes and questions like these.  Like a Zen koan, each paradox is designed to make us dig deeper, connect with our inner soul knowing and solve the karmic conundrum.

From Spirit to Matter–the Soul’s Journey

19 Aug

So how did we go from being Spirit-sparks floating in space with our twin flames to souls walking around on planet earth looking for our “one and only?”  When the creation of the Causal Body was completed, we moved out of the Great Central Sun.  The I AM Presence of each twin flame projected a ray of itself into matter, and this was the beginning of what we know as the soul.  In matter, one soul carries the masculine polarity and the other the feminine polarity of the whole.  Yet, the soul, whether it is housed in a male or female body, is itself feminine because it is the feminine counterpart in matter of the Spirit from which it came.  Therefore the soul is often referred  to as “she” and “her.”

Living in a new environment–matter–required adapting to completely new circumstances.  Just as the I AM Presence gathered skeins of light to form the core identity of the soul, so the soul, after emerging from the fiery core of the Presence, gathered around herself skeins of matter to form the “vehicles” she would need to navigate in a new realm.  These vehicles are the body, mind, memory and emotions.

Mastering the Energies of Time and Space

We went into matter with free will and the authority to “take dominion over the earth.”  “Earth” or “matter” is simply a densification or mater-ialization, of the energies of Spirit in the dimension of time and space.  Our reason for being in the earth’s schoolroom is first and foremost to develop, by our free-will consent, the masterful qualities that are a part of the character and being of God.  Passing our tests in the schoolroom of earth would require gaining mastery in this new dimension as we worked on developing the inner blueprint given to us at birth.

When our souls first went forth from the Great Central Sun, we lived in a form of matter that was not the heavy, dense matter that we experience today.  We lived in a dimension called the etheric plane, which is the highest vibrating plane in matter.  We moved about in etheric light bodies in this heavenly world, guided by the masters and the light of our God Presence.  Our early life in matter was blissful.  Many lived in mystery schools within the Great White Brotherhood and throughout the far reaches of the universe, were we walked and talked with the masters and lived in harmony with our twin flames and with each other.

Do you ever sense that life in this world feels “heavy”?  Why is that?  At some point in our evolution, we were tricked into ignoring the divine direction of our God Presence.  It’s the standard Garden of Eden allegory.  By free will, we allowed ourselves to be tempted into thinking that there was a better way than the inner walk with God.  We sometimes entered into compromising situations and made wrong choices.  As a result, our vibration was lowered and our matter bodies became denser.  In other words, we made negative karma, and we’ve been paying the price ever since.

Karma and dense bodies create the illusion that we are separate from God, but we are not.  We are as much a part of Spirit now as we were in the beginning–and this journey through life is our opportunity to prove it.

Healing the Heart

19 Jul

chakra-diamondheart

Healing the heart begins with mercy–extending mercy to others, extending mercy to ourselves.  It begins with affirming that we are in control of our destiny.  No matter what we have done, no matter what we have experienced, we can transcend ourselves.  We can learn to master the creative flow of energy through our heart. When something is difficult or distasteful, we want to flee as far and as fast as we can.  Winston Churchill once said, “Men occasionally stumble over the truth, but most of them pick themselves up and hurry off as if nothing happened.”  When we’re on a path of the heart and we stumble over a situation that needs resolution, no matter how uncomfortable it may be, we don’t just pick ourselves up and hurry off.  For we know we are not really free to make spiritual progress unless we stop and apply mercy.  First, last and always, we are called to forgive, forgive and forgive.

There  is a simple law behind that injunction.  When we refuse to forgive someone who has wronged us, even if he wrongs us again and again, we tie ourselves to that person.  “All you are unable to give,” said Andre Gide, “possesses you.” The person we refuse to forgive, the person we are angry with, becomes our master.  No matter how hard we try to move in any direction, we can only go as far as the rope of non-resolution allows us to–and it’s usually a very short rope.  The rope is short because our soul inevitably gravitates back to the scene to restore harmony and reach resolution.

That’s why people who go to their graves without making peace with their adversaries will be in for a surprise when they reach the other side.  They will find out that when we don’t let go of our resentment, anger, or desire for revenge, we have to reincarnate with the same people again and again until we learn to love.  Thus deep seated vendettas between families and even nations are not just generations old; they can go back centuries or even lifetimes.  The feuding goes on with no end in sight until they forgive.

Not only do people carry non-forgiveness to their graves, but they may go to their graves more quickly if they do not forgive.  A University of Tennessee study measured the effects of a forgiving personality.  Researchers measured indicators like blood pressure, forehead muscle tension and heart rate as students spoke about experiences of betrayal. The researchers found that those who forgave more easily had lower blood pressure and a smaller increase in blood pressure than those who held grudges.

The issue of forgiveness is confusing to many of us because we have been erroneously taught that forgiveness wipes away the transgression  or the crime.  We think that when we ask for forgiveness for something we have done or when we forgive another, that’s the end of the matter and we have no further responsibility.  But forgiveness does not equal absolution.  We are still required to take full responsibility for our actions. If you pay someone to paint your car blue and he paints it red, you can forgive him but he still has to rectify the situation and repaint your car.

When God forgives us, our negative karma (or sin) is sealed for a time.  It’s as if God takes this bundle of karma off our back so  we have time to pursue the path of self-mastery and prepare to pass the exam when it comes around again.  And it will come again.  When we do finally pass the test, we can graduate to the next level of spiritual mastery.

That’s how the universe works.  If we lose our temper or get angry, we will be tested again on the formula of patience and forgiveness.  The test may come in a new set of circumstances or it may come as a reply of the same scenario with the same actors.  Whatever the case, we will have to show how much love and forgiveness we can infuse into the situation to heal ourselves and others.

Jesus was a prophet of love and one of the most profound things he ever taught about the spiritual dynamics of love is in the Lord’s Prayer: “Forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors.”  We’re so used to hearing those words that we don’t really think about what they mean: Forgive us our own faults and mistakes in the same manner as we forgive the faults and mistakes of others.

That’s the fundamental law of karma:  As you do unto others, so it will be done unto you.  God will extend forgiveness to us in the same proportion that we extend our heart’s mercy to others.  And if we do not forgive, then mercy will be withheld from us.  Thus the biggest danger of the unmerciful heart is that it hurts the one who retains it.

The story of love is not important–what is important

is that one is capable of love.

-Helen Hayes

The law of forgiveness is a simple equation of energy, for whatever we think, feel and do has ramifications at energetic levels of our being.  The ancient Oriental art of  Feng Shui, for example, says that clutter or blockages within our environment can create blockages in our life.  The same things applies to our internal terrain.  When we freely give and receive love, when we quickly deal with and resolve issues that come into our lives, energy can move. But if we hold on to resentment or anger, energy gets blocked up.  When lack of forgiveness and love becomes acute, the blocked energy hardens around the heart.  At spiritual levels this creates hardness of heart.

If you want to heal the heart and activate mercy, a good rule of thumb is to handle that unpleasant, sticky issue that just walked into your life as fast as you can.  Forgive others and ask for forgiveness with all the sincerity of your heart so that both of you can move forward.  The great adepts did not say, however, that forgiveness was necessarily easy.  It’s not always easy to forgive those who have committed grave crimes against body, mind and soul.

Resolution, is a two-step process.  The first step is to invoke divine mercy.   We can forgive the soul of the one who committed the wrong and we can ask God to forgive the soul.  The second step is to invoke divine justice for the binding of the negative forces, within and without that hold the soul in their grip and work through that soul.  We can ask God to restrain the unreal self, the dark side of the person that caused him or her to commit wrong.  We can also ask God to give the soul an opportunity to repent of his deeds and an opportunity to strengthen himself so he can resist the urge to do wrong when it knocks again at his door.

However, just because we forgive someone, it doesn’t mean we condone his harmful actions. But it does mean we can let go of our sense of injustice and let God take care of the situation.  The when, where and how is God’s business–“Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.”

That means it’s our work to forgive, and it’s God’s work to render judgement and deliver the increments of karma that will help the soul learn her lessons.  In fact, we can love the spiritual nature that resides deep within each person no matter what his actions are.  The animating fire at the very core of our cells is God, and therefore we can love the soul and honor that light even if the consciousness that uses that light is no longer serving the spirit.

“The understanding of these two components of forgiveness–forgiving the soul and asking God to bind the negative forces working through the soul–is the healing of a lifetime.

Elizabeth Clare Prophet

What is The Higher Self?

1 Jul

Think of a sun, a spiritual sun.  It appears to be white-hot but it feels cool to you.  For you are a part of that sun.  You are concentrated light, energy and consciousness, bursting with potential.  This sun is the spiritual source of all life.  It doesn’t have spatial coordinates.  It’s not separated from you by distance.  It simply exists as pure Spirit.  This sun is light.  It is God.  It is your Father and your Mother.  It is called the Central Sun.  Once you enjoyed being a part of this sun.  You reveled in the feeling of oneness with all creation. But you also wanted to experiment with your potential, your own ability to create, to ensoul matter with Spirit. You entered other dimensions, sometimes creating perfectly and other times imperfectly.  You may have designed cities, created sculptures or gardens, or simply existed in a state of bliss with God’s creatures.

Then, traveling through the world of form, you first contacted imperfection.  As you interacted with others and then engaged in negativity yourself, the imperfection multiplied and boomeranged back to you.  A shadow can between you and the Sun.  You became enmeshed in imperfect creation.  You forgot what it was like to be part of the Sun.  You could not find your way back to your original state.  Lost in shadows, your fiery nature cooled.  Now you could not return home since you could no longer withstand the awesome heat of the Sun in which your spirit had been forged.  Your soul fell asleep, forgetting its origins and it potential to create as God creates.

But your Father and Mother had foreseen this.  They did not leave you alone. They gave you a replica of that Sun, an I AM Presence, so that you would always remember where you came from–and always have a way to return.  And they gave you a mediator who would bridge the gap between you and your I AM Presence and awaken your soul to her lost identity.  This mediator between God and man is called your Christ Self.  Together the I AM Presence and Christ Self make up what is commonly referred to as the Higher Self.

God Self of higher self

What is the I AM Presence?  Your I AM Presence is more than just an image or a copy; it possesses all of the qualities of the original.  It is your individual God-identity, your God Self.  And God is God is God–every particle of God contains all of the whole.   The following picture represents your I AM Presence; including your God Self, your Christ Self and you.

chart-of-your-divine-self0011.jpg

Your Higher Self is your Real Self, the self that you identify with today is just a tiny fraction of that mighty being that you are.  When you contact that state of oneness, you’ll find that you can once again use your God-given power to create.  And you will enjoy the bliss that you knew with God in the beginning.  You will be able to put on once again the image and likeness of God in which you were originally made.

Create a Sacred Space and Make a Spiritual Connection Each Morning

13 Jun

We have access to vast spiritual reserves that can guide us daily in practical ways, but we have to make time to tap into the wellspring of wisdom.  Many people find that creating a sacred space helps them make this connection. You can do this easily by setting up your personal altar in your home.  You can adorn this altar with whatever inspires you and helps you make that connection with God and with your Higher Self.  Above or on your altar you can place the Chart of Your Divine Self to help you attune with the presence of God within.

Your Altar is the place you go to “alter,” or transform.  When I take time first thing in the morning to connect with God through heartfelt prayer, I find that my day is transformed.  It goes much more smoothly. I don’t get caught up in the needless distractions and emergencies that pull me away from my goals.

Prayer, in realty, is a conversation.  We don’t just reach out to God; God also reaches out to us with guidance, comfort, direction and help. Your morning conversation with God doesn’t have to take long.  You can sit or stand before your altar, close your eyes, take some deep breath and enter into the sacred space within your heart–the secret chamber where your divine spark abides.

Image

This sanctuary of the heart is the secret garden where you go to retreat and to commune with God and with your own inner teacher, your Higher Self.   Here you can tell God how much you love him.  You can send God your intense gratitude for the blessing you have received.  Then invite the angels and masters into your life to help you achieve your spiritual and material goals for the day.

The two key principals to keep in mind are that spoken prayer is more effective than silent prayer and we can enhance our prayer force when we are specific in naming our goals and visualizing what we what to take place.

O God, connect with me now as I go forth this day to fulfill my highest calling.  Protect my soul.  Protect my time.  Protect my harmony.  See that I take up the cause of my service to life unperturbed.   I call for divine intercession from you and your angels, and I accept it done this hour in full power.

Let all my prayers be adjusted to God’s will.
