Enlightenment Class Part 2: How to Spot a False Teacher

20 Feb

The ascended masters want you to be able to declare your independence from the imposters masquerading as legitimate spiritual teachers. To this end, the masters have formulated a pathway that will lead you unerringly to your own God Consciousness. But you must be willing to embrace this path, and one of the obstacles we all encounter on the way is the darkness sown by fallen angels and all agents of evil, no matter what face they wear. What we must overcome is our attachment to human consciousness, to the limitations of the human mind and to the seeming attraction of the world and all of its diversions. But this path must be chosen, not coerced. The ascended masters will never force their students to do anything. Students must be willing to exert themselves to show they have staying power, to lift the weight of darkness that it might become light. This is the path of discerning the difference between the real Self and the not self. The masters stand ready to show you how to do it.

Love Incarnate! Protecting and Nourishing the Heart

14 Feb

Hail, sons and daughters of love! I am, you are, love incarnate! And by the power of that Word incarnate, the flame flows across the sky, across the land, across the sea and in the fire. Oh, won’t you come up higher and enter in to the pulsating heart of our love?

We are Chamuel and Charity, and in the heart of love our twin flames abide as the focal point for the pure in heart, who shall see God. We come this day, in concerted action, in one flame, one heart, one mind and one voice to blend our energies in increments of sacred fire and to release to mankind those waves of love, from the Central Sun above, which have been invoked by the sacred Word he spoke, “Lo, I AM come to do thy will, O God!”—sacred words of love.

How great is the devotion of the angelic hosts toward mankind in this hour of change, of transition. It is a time of the turning of the tide—the turning of the tide of the human consciousness by an action of love that is born within the soul, a love that preserves and prefers the God Self above the human self. To be born in that love is to be reborn. And therefore the new birth of freedom is at hand as mighty tides of love turn the entire course and the tide of human thinking, human feeling. This is not a riptide. This is not shock energy. But this is a mighty wave, which sons and daughters of love must ride to its culmination, to its fulfillment, in the heart of the Great Central Sun.

Hearts united and on fire to do God’s will, will go forth from this place to out-picture a mandala of grace. It is a giant heart, a valentine, if you will, of our love for God, for man, for all life. The pulsating fire in this heart, the lacy filigree, the perfume of roses, is a thoughtform that makes its way as a focus of our retreat, as a focus of our love.

The heart of America is the heart of the world. And in our retreat there is an altar and a flame that is dedicated to the flow of life from the heart of God, the I AM Presence, to the heart of the Christ, the Christ Self of all mankind, and thence to the heart of man…

Precious children of the light, hearts must be nourished physically, emotionally, mentally and etherically. You must have the right sustenance for the heart by taking in foods that are natural, organically grown, so that you can spare your heart centers the burden of chemicals, of drugs, of unwanted substance. You must also nourish the heart flame by the action of love, by the action of intensifying the feelings of love—releasing a torrent of divine love through the heart at eventide, when the pink flame is seen in the sunset. It is a reminder that evening is provided for blessed communication with the heart center of God, of Christ, of man.

Now, here is the mystery of love. As man kneels before the altar of God pouring love and gratitude to God, there is a release of energy through the heart center—a mighty flow of love that acts to flush out darkness, opposition, mortal cursings, mortal consciousness, witchcraft and black magic that are projected against the heart centers of the children of light…

f you continually pour your love to God, the energies of your feeling bodies will be continually qualified with love and continually ascend back to the throne of God, carried by angel messengers, by cherubim of fire, by angels of our bands. And as they carry your love, God’s love re-qualified by your love, they afford to you that protection of the sacred spheres of the Great White Brotherhood. And the antahkarana of life—the web of love and reason, of logic and truth, of power and will—is fortified. And so you, too, are fortified…

Let love be without dissimulation. Let love be the action of the Law. God rests in motion. Let your motion be his energy perpetually giving forth the energies of love.

As we release our love, it is encased in a sheath of blue fire, that all who receive that love should use that love in purity, desiring only to see God and to be God. Thus to the pure in heart our energy flows. And to anyone to whom it is given who shall use this love in an inordinate manner, of them it shall be spoken, “To them that have not shall be taken away that which they have.” Those who use not the energies of love for the glory of God in man, for the upliftment and the comfort of all life in compassion—these, then, must have the withdrawing action of love.

Love does not allow itself to be dissipated. Love does not allow itself to be trampled upon. Love is a flame that is free, that has a destiny and that would entwine the hearts of all mankind, as morning glories upon the stalk. As morning glories open to the sun, so love is open to the Christ in all mankind.

Love Is the Fulfilling of the Law

11 Feb

I want to remind you that in 1987 Mighty Victory said to us: “Receive me to your heart. For I, Victory, encapsulate my Electronic Presence to a very small height that I might abide with you as the impetus to the balance of your threefold flame. Just call to me and say, ‘Victory’s impetus is mine this day for Power, Wisdom and Love in balance.’”

So I suggest we take Mighty Victory up on his promise and use that mantra as we work on balancing our threefold flames. Let’s say it now together, three times, with gusto:
Victory’s impetus is mine this day for Power, Wisdom and Love in balance!
Victory’s impetus is mine this day for Power, Wisdom and Love in balance!
Victory’s impetus is mine this day for Power, Wisdom and Love in balance!

I tell you there is nothing more powerful than a balanced threefold flame springing from the white fount of the Divine Mother. What you have to remember is that when the flames of love, wisdom and power are balanced within you, not only do you have the power of the three flames but you also have the exponential power of the three-times-three, which is nine. And the power of the nine is nothing less than invincible. So, as the Maha Chohan said, it all boils down to this: “Without love in the manifestation of the three-times-three,…you will not fulfill your mission.”

The apostle Paul wrote: “Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.… Therefore, love is the fulfilling of the law.”

Love is indeed the fulfilling of the law. If we don’t do everything we do with love, our actions have no meaning. They have no promise. They have no healing properties. They have no joy. For love is the great healer, and you can be great healers when you have great love.

When you open your heart, God can step through, and the hosts of the Lord can step through. And through you, they can heal many, many people.

The Arrow of Love

This is not just a platitude. It is an initiation. The great mystics of all time talk about this initiation in terms of the arrow of love. Kahlil Gibran wrote: “When love beckons to you, follow him, though his ways are hard and steep. And when his wings enfold you, yield to him, though the sword hidden among his pinions may wound you.”

When Cupid’s arrow comes to you, what do you do? When El Morya or Mother Mary, Gautama Buddha or Kuan Yin comes knocking at the door of your heart, what do you do? When—in the guise of a finicky friend or a complaining child or an ailing parent—one of the Masters comes knocking at the door of your heart, what do you do?

Do you look through the peephole before you decide whether or not you will open the door? Do you say, “Not now, I’m busy. I’m not ready. I’ve got too much happening. Have you tried next door yet?” Or do you fling wide the doors, and let yourself be wounded by the arrows of love?

Only when you open those doors do you stand a chance of finding what you’re really looking for in life which, when you get right down to it, is a love tryst with the divine.

Let God Release Perfect Love Through You

8 Feb

Would you feel the cosmic rays of the stars? Would you know the vibration of Sirius? You can.

I say, you can if you will, but love must purge you of grossness, of cruelty in the spoken word. Love must purge you of those receptors that still hear the demons of the night and their vanity and their profane words. Love must purge you and silence all dissonance in your consciousness. Love that glows as a fire, for what? For God, God, God! Love that is a fire for friend and neighbor and for the child that is not seen.

Who is the child that is not seen? Is it the child in the womb of the Cosmic Virgin? It is the child of your own heart. The unseen child is the one who is profaned upon earth. Therefore, let the child appear. Let the child appear within you as perfect Love.

You can know all things. God has never withheld from any of his sons his perfect Wisdom and his perfect Love. You can aspire to become sages upon earth, teachers of wisdom but only by love.

Deliver me from the brittleness of those who memorize the Word without the heart of devotion! Deliver me, then, from those who take the ocean of God’s love to the depths of psychic thralldom and the entertainment of phenomena. Deliver me, then, from those who are more interested in doctrine and dogma than in the plight of the soul itself.

How we love the flame of Love bursting for joy in your heart and as love for one another! Blessed hearts of peace, open now and let God release through you his perfect Love. Then will you be my disciples indeed.

How can you sow the seeds of my Word unless you wrap them in the swaddling garment of love? The seeds cannot grow unless they be enfolded in love—enfolded in the name of the Father, of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit—sealed in the cosmic cross of white fire by the angels of the Ruby Ray, sealed in the Light of Alpha and Omega in the Body and Blood of Christ. Yes, seeds of my heart and wisdom, seeds of my discipline must be enfolded in love when you pass them to another and sow them in the soul’s consciousness.

Oh, the Heart of Kindness!

31 Jan

“Blessed ones, as you enter this year filled with its promise and yet with some trepidation, wondering what might come to your doorstep next, I also come with hope. For hope is surely the star that we follow to the place where the Lord lay and where Christ is born in each heart.

It is good to know that all things that come to your doorstep can be dealt with by the living fire and the fount of Love within your heart. The key is not to react, not to become negative but rather philosophical, to say to yourself:

“Who knocks there? Whose footstep do I hear? Is it that of friend or foe? It matters not, for I give love and have plenty to spare. In this my calling in life, I shall greet all that comes to me with a chuckle, with a point of laughter, with the wisdom of the Mind of God, with my gaze fixed on him and yet kindness always flowing to my neighbor.”

In this stance, then, be not reactors, beloved, but know that life is full of promises and many packages wrapped, some with love and some with cords of enmity. Receive them all and deal with them justly, honorably and with that deep fire of love that has compassion for evildoers who have lost the key to the heart of God that you yet hold in your treasure chest of Love.

Be Not Moved by Circumstances or Karma

Oh yes, beloved, do not allow yourself to be moved this way and that because of circumstances. Do not ever discount the moment of karma. For is not every particle of sand that descends in the hourglass the sign of passing karma that can be dealt with, that must be dealt with at the moment when it passes through the nexus?

This must seem an impossible task–how to be there at the right point in time and space to greet your karma so that when it passes through the nexus it does not create a pile of karma beneath and therefore require you to start all over again.

Yes, beloved, when you are in the right place in consciousness, you are always at the point of the nexus, the nexus of the mighty figure-eight flow that delivers to you the lightning of the Mind of God through the Sacred Heart of your Holy Christ Self. Being at that point of equanimity, you can be philosophical about tragedy and sudden loss and also hold the reins of the ecstatic mood when great good things come your way.

In the peace-commanding presence of the centeredness of being, know wholeness. My prayer for you this year is that the Christmas wind, which is the wind of the Holy Spirit, shall bring to you peace of mind, wholeness, centeredness and, above all, charity toward yourself, toward all. Charity, beloved–for charity does engulf with flames of Love all pride and ego-centeredness that beget self-condemnation and the condemnation of others.

Wholeness, Achieved through Love, Is the Goal

Yes, beloved, I would have you walk the earth as the children of Wisdom and I would have you deal with life and circumstance by the fiat of the spoken Word.

Yes, beloved, wholeness is the goal. It is achieved through love, yes, and wisdom. But as you have been told, without God’s will, without that faith, without that fire of the true-blue chela, you will find it difficult, (yea impossible, as the scriptures say,) to please God. And, blessed heart, if you are not able to please God, then you will become among all people the most miserable.

See, then, and understand that pleasing God does not require gymnastics of the mind or ultimate feats of this and that but simply the gentle heart. Oh, the gentle heart, the heart of kindness, the heart of Maitreya, the heart of the Bodhisattva!”

Know God By His Spirit

26 Jan

I must tell you that most of you do not know one another as you think you do. Some individuals who are close in the human sense almost take pride in their ability to understand another’s mind or heart or actions and to anticipate their behavior. These are behaviorists, one and all.

Those who are the godless seek to control others by memorizing their human patterns and then by carefully manipulating the same. Yet an individual’s mannerisms and human behavior do not always tell the secret of the soul or the nature of the Inner Christ. Those who have the greatest manifestation of my presence may not be the hail-fellow-well-met—the jolly sort of person whose personality everyone flocks to.

I remember the Gurus who were gruff and growling and angry most of the time. Why were they angry? They were angry at the nations and at the planetary momentums of intrigue. Sometimes the sweetest disciples would speak to them, and they would answer in a growl and a thrust of anger would go through the body like a chill wind. It was intended to do so that the bodies of the disciples might become transmitters of this anger to the world in all of its infamy and evil.

Let this Be a Year when Illusion Drops Away

It is impossible to know God except by his Spirit. You may examine character traits. You may think you know exactly the definition of Christ and Antichrist. You may be certain in your own mind that you will know both on the highway of life, but unless the Holy Spirit, as the Maha Chohan, reveal it to you, you may be wrong nine times out of ten.

I trust that in the future you will have a better score than that, having so often perceived our vibration in these dictations. When all the world is maya and the pinpoints of light are the hearts of the chelas, do you not expect sometimes that even the visages of our best servants should be blurred by the water itself, by the astral plane of illusion, distorting even the most beautiful of countenances?

Then, of course, the burden of karma past and planetary and so many conditions of life may bow down the emergent Christed one. All this put together does not tell the best of tales concerning the best of men.

Therefore, beloved, let this be the year when illusion drops suddenly to the ground, as a cloak too heavy, and the body is light and clear again and no longer encumbered. Let this be a year, then, when you have no illusions, neither of grandeur nor of the miserable sinner that is projected upon you. Let us have no illusions about ourselves or about others and most of all, let us not have illusions about the Ascended Masters, that they may appear as they really are and not as they are imagined to be.

Get Down to the Things that Are Important

I AM Maitreya, a funny sort of fellow. I, too, look for friends who understand me. I hope you will. I hope that in your heart of hearts you can perceive me as I am. To be known and loved for who and what you are and not for who and what you are not is not only your wish but also the wish of every angel in heaven.

So, beloved, let us get down to the things in life that are important:
Work on your threefold flame.
Love your Christ and everyone else’s.
Listen to the words we speak and hear what they really mean.
Treasure every communiqué from our octave.
Love one another as I have loved you and will always love you.
Remember the prophets, their example and their precepts.
Do a good day’s work.
Covet not another’s attainment.
Give freely, but hold fast what thou hast received from God for thine own inner initiation.
Expose the lie, but dwell upon the image of truth.

Remember the mild eye of Pallas Athena and behold the nobility of the visages of the Goddesses of Liberty, of Truth, of Justice, of Mercy, of Love and of Peace.

How great are the countenances of the women of heaven who belong solely to God and are independent in their service to the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. We are grateful that we can count on the ladies of heaven to assist us in the great work of igniting illumination’s flame heart to heart around the planet.

The Christ Child is born. Christmas is over. A new year is upon us. Let us see to it that not one incoming avatar of my heart be lost.

The Summit Lighthouse.org. This excerpt by Lord Maitreya is from the New Year’s Class, The Buddhas in Winter, held December 28, 1982, through January 2, 1983 and published in the Pearl of Wisdom®, Vol. 43, No. 47

Taoism

9 Oct

Every religion’s mystical path portrays its ideal of the holy man. In Taoism, he is called “The Perfect Man.”

Taoism’s Perfect Man is our universal mystic. Taoist texts by the eastern mystics like Lao Tzu describe him as the man who could ascend the loftiest heights without fear, could enter the water and not get wet, and could enter the fire and not get burned.

Perfected people lean on a pillar that is never shaken, travel a road that is never blocked, are endowed from a resource that is never exhausted, and learn from a teacher that never dies. Whatever they do, they embrace destiny and go along without confusion. Taoism’s Perfect Man govern.

In Chinese, Tao means literally Way; it also denotes Teaching. In Taoism the term takes on a metaphysical meaning as the Absolute, the ineffable Reality, the First Principle and source of all being to which all things ultimately return. The goal of Taoists is to become one with the Tao.

The word Tao, which literally means “Way,” is the animating principle of life that sustains all creation and is in all creation. According to the teachings of Taoism, it is the transcendental First Cause, the Absolute, the Ultimate Reality.

The antidote for the seemingly insurmountable problems facing earth’s evolutions is for each member of the human race to take wise dominion over himself, to take control of his being, and to liberally give of his heart to those who need his love. When you are in command of your forces, nothing can deter you from tackling any problem, personal or planetary.

Taoism is a religious or philosophical tradition of Chinese origin which emphasizes living in harmony with the Tao (Chinese: ; pinyin: literally: “the Way”, also romanized as Dao). The Tao is a fundamental idea in most Chinese philosophical schools; in Taoism, however, it denotes the principle that is the source, pattern and substance of everything that exists.] Taoism differs from Confucianism by not emphasizing rigid rituals and social order, but is similar in the sense that is a teaching about the various disciplines for achieving “perfection” by becoming one with the unplanned rhythms of the universe called “the way” or “dao”. Taoist ethics vary depending on the particular school, but in general tend to emphasize wu wei (action without intention), “naturalness”, simplicity, spontaneity, and the Three Treasures: 慈 “compassion”, 儉 “frugality”, and 不敢為天下先 “humility”.

Taoism teaches a person to flow with life. Over the years Taoism has become many things to many people. Hundreds of variations in Taoist practice exist. Some of these practices are philosophical, and others are religious. Taoism makes no distinction in applying labels to its nature because to do so would limit a person. We are each a blend of many truths. The truth taught in Taoism is to embrace life in actions that support you as a person.

Taoism teaches a person to live in their heart.

Illumination – An Exercise in the Expansion of Consciousness

3 Oct

Men ask, “Which way is the age going, up or down?” But the power of one man or woman to influence the age is seldom sensed. And when it is, this power is too frequently used as the doorway for egoistic opportunity whereby one or more individuals can secure the attention that is often captioned, “The eyes of the world are upon you.”

The difference between the teachings of our brotherhood and the concepts of mankind which revolve around the ego is quite simple — simple enough for a child to understand. “The eyes of God are upon you” is the motto of our temple and the significant order of the day in our brotherhood.

We who understand the meaning of illumination are not so much concerned with rote — with the memorizing of earthly formulae, flights of fancy or poetry, a grasp of flora and fauna, or even an understanding of history itself.

Unless the motive behind the acquisition of knowledge be an exercise in the expansion of consciousness and memory in order that the finer and more subtle senses of the individual may become God-attuned for the purpose of cosmic revelation, the real purpose of academics is not fulfilled.

Without cosmic revelation all men would be ultimately dead, for the goals of men (artificial and superimposed by society as they are in most cases) which they esteem so highly are played out in threescore and ten plus. To create the fineness of mind and spirit which God has done, to create the glorious opportunities he has fashioned, would have but little meaning if life were but a merry-go-round whirl, its purpose lost among vast cosmic cycles, and the goal coming to a close as “terminus” is written on each individual chapter.

The beauty of infinite life was captured in the Psalms of David and in his statement “Thou wilt not leave my soul in hell, nor suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.” Thus all of the beauty of life without end was created for the joy and glory of the manifest son; and the eternal brotherhood serves only to release infinite directions to finite man as a means to effect his permanent liberation from the cycles of birth and death.

Here in the Grand Teton Ranges the high and holy vibratory action of the sacred fire pulsates within our temple. The pulsations of that flame of golden illumination are beamed every moment into the world atmosphere, and what we do here is done in every retreat of the Great White Brotherhood. Outwardly our temple represents the Rock of Ages; within it represents the golden flame of illumination which the Rock of Ages really is.

It has been said that “no man is an island.” Yet every man is his own gatekeeper. At the gateway of the eternal temple he must free himself by knowing his real nature.

Just as man knows his outward nature and can psychoanalyze himself, giving a host of names to various situations in which he finds himself, so must he learn to know the man that is within, the man of the Spirit, the Infinite One who guides the outer man into the temple of divine experience and immortality.

Without immortality, life has little meaning. With it, life has all meaning.

This excerpt on the meaning of illumination from Our Brotherhood, Part 1 by Lord Lanto from September 24, 1967 published in the 1967 Pearl of Wisdom Vol. 10 No. 39..thesummitlighthouse.org

Mystical Path of Hinduism

1 Oct

Hinduism is the world’s oldest religion and one of the least understood in the West.

Hinduism is the fount from which all the Western and Eastern mystics have drunk whether they knew it or not. It is the oldest source of the idea that latent in each one of us is the Self that is God.

Hinduism gives the first step-by-step instructions on how to realize or become one with God. The inner, mystical path of Hinduism is a well marked one, yet to the casual Western observer it may appear to be lost in a mire of superstition.

Hinduism as one of the major world religions corresponds to the root or base-of-the-spine chakra and the fourth ray in the spectrum of the divine consciousness. As the name implies, the base-of-the-spine chakra is located at the end of the spinal column. It has four petals and its etheric color is white, though it may appear red or orange in a less pure state. The fourth ray, for which this chakra is a receptacle, is the ray of divine order, harmony and purity.

The Sanskrit name for the base-of-the-spine chakra is Muladhara, which means “root support.” It is associated with the perineum, near the anus. Within this chakra, say the Hindus, lives the Goddess Kundalini—the coiled-up energy or “sleeping serpent” of unlimited spiritual potential. By means of spiritual exercises, discipline and self-purification, the force of the Kundalini is awakened and travels up through the chakras, along the spine, through three main energy channels: the Ida, Pingala and Shushumna. Ultimately, this rising energy unites with Brahman in the crown chakra. When this happens, the spiritual aspirant reaches enlightenment and liberation (moksha).

The ascended masters speak about the sacred fire of the Kundalini as the white light of the Mother or the Mother Flame. The golden yellow flame of illumination in the crown chakra is the light of the Father, or pure Spirit, whereas the Mother light is associated with the Matter or material world. For most human beings, pure Spirit is an abstraction that is difficult to comprehend. Matter, on the other hand, constantly presents itself to our senses in the objective world all around us. Spirit or Father is hard to know; Matter or Mother is the loving presence of the Shakti of God that is so close to us that we can literally touch it.

The ascended masters use two terms for these two polarities of being that illustrate this principle. They speak of God the Father as the “Impersonal Impersonality” which manifests to us via general, universal and impersonal principles and laws. In contrast, God the Mother is the “Personal Personality”—the comforting presence and manifestation of God that is most readily accessible and knowable to us.

In Hinduism, God as Mother shows herself in the myriad manifestations of deities and sacred animals, objects and places. Each of these expresses a unique aspect or attribute of the divine. It’s as if in Hinduism, the Mother made sure that wherever and whenever her children turn for help and inspiration, she can immediately be found. Hindus understand that in essence, these many manifestations of God are not separate realities; they are illusory manifestations of the one great divine consciousness. But it doesn’t matter; the Mother presence wraps this ancient culture in a warm, comforting embrace that ever reminds them of the need for spiritual striving and the goal of reunion with the Father, Brahman.

We’ve seen that mystical Hinduism acknowledges several different paths to union with the divine, known as margas. These are often described as four main types of yoga, designed for four different temperaments or types of people. They are:

Bhakti Yoga: Union through the path of love and devotion

Karma yoga: Union through selfless action and service; dedicating all our actions to God

Jnana yoga: Union through knowledge and discernment

Raja yoga: Union through deep meditation

Raja yoga is also called the Supreme Yoga or the Royal Road to Integration. Its current practice is largely based on the yoga instructions of Patanjali, one of India’s great teachers on this ancient mystical tradition.
